DVD-R, a write-once format, is capable of producing pre-mastering discs and is ideal for high volume data recording, archiving and playback. Holds seven times more data than a full size CD-R. Write-once format stores data permanently and has outstanding picture quality. DVD-R is also compatible with two writing modes: CLV (Constant Linear Velocity - ideal for video recording) and CAV (Constant Angular Velocity - ideal for fast random access data recording). DVD-R discs can be recorded on DVD-R/-RW PC drives or DVD-R/-RW set-top video recorders.
